FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) has named Jamere Jackson as its chief financial officer, a move that formalizes the finance leadership structure following an interim period. The appointment, announced on October 26, 2026, is effective November 30 and replaces Claude Russ, who has served in the role since June 1. Jackson’s arrival marks the end of a transitional phase for the Memphis-based company, bringing a permanent executive to a position critical for managing capital allocation and operational performance.
Jackson brings a decade of experience leading finance functions at major public companies. He most recently served as chief financial officer at AutoZone, a role he held from January 2021, where he also oversaw Store Development. Prior to his tenure at AutoZone, Jackson was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hertz Global Holdings and served as chief financial officer of Nielsen Holdings. His career path also includes various leadership positions at General Electric, including chief financial officer for a division of GE Oil and Gas. Currently, Jackson sits on the Board of Directors for Eli Lilly & Co, where he chairs the Audit Committee.
Raj Subramaniam, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Corporation, stated that Jackson’s background combines disciplined financial management with operational experience. Subramaniam noted that Jackson has demonstrated an ability to balance strategic investments in growth with a focus on profitability, cash generation, and capital allocation. The CEO expressed confidence that Jackson’s leadership will support FedEx’s momentum in driving profitable growth and delivering long-term value for stockholders. Subramaniam also acknowledged Claude Russ’s contributions during the interim period.
Jackson described FedEx as a business with significant opportunity ahead. He said he looks forward to learning from the finance team and applying his experience to the company’s profitable growth strategy. The announcement highlights a shift in focus toward stabilizing executive leadership after several months of interim management.
FedEx reported annual revenue of $86 billion in its most recent disclosure. The company provides transportation, ecommerce, and business services worldwide, employing more than 450,000 people. It has set a goal to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2040. The press release includes standard cautionary statements regarding forward-looking information, noting that actual results may differ due to factors such as global market conditions and the implementation of network optimization initiatives like Network 2.0 and Tricolor.
