What NewsMV collects when you read or subscribe, how we use it, and the control you keep over it.

What we collect

NewsMV is built to be read without an account, and we keep what we collect to a minimum.

Server logs: like any website, our servers and content network record standard request data — your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time you request them. This keeps the site secure and helps us understand traffic.

Newsletter email: if you choose to subscribe to a briefing, we store the email address you give us and your subscription preferences. This is optional and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies and analytics: we use a small number of cookies and privacy-conscious analytics to measure which stories are read and to remember basic preferences. We do not sell your personal data.

How we use it

We use this information to deliver the site, send the newsletters you asked for, keep our service secure, understand readership in aggregate, and improve our coverage. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent reader data.

Third parties and our content network

NewsMV is served through a content delivery network and uses a small set of trusted providers for hosting, email delivery and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and only to run the service.

Some pages embed press-release or partner material that may load resources from the issuer's own platform. Where that happens, the third party's own privacy terms also apply to what they collect.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use essential cookies to run the site and optional analytics cookies to measure readership. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some preferences may not be remembered.

How long we keep data

Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated out. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We do not hold reader data longer than we need it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to withdraw consent to our newsletters. To exercise any of these, contact the desk and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Contact

Questions about your privacy, or a request about your data, can reach us through our contact page.
