Dish-owned Sling TV is discontinuing its Sling Pass feature, which permitted customers to purchase single-day access to cable programming without a full monthly subscription. The service, reported by The Desk, launched last year with options for day, weekend, and weekly passes. These passes provided temporary access to channels including ESPN and CNN. Following the launch, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery filed a lawsuit against Sling TV regarding the Sling Pass feature. A federal judge subsequently denied Disney's request for a preliminary injunction that sought to block the service. The Verge reported that Sling TV built the platform to give customers control over their entertainment.
