Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley pulled up with an apparent right hamstring injury during the first quarter of the team's game against the Los Angeles Rams. The player walked gingerly to the sideline and entered the medical tent for a preliminary exam. After a lengthy stay in the tent, Barkley left the field and walked to the locker room for further testing. The Eagles have announced that Barkley is questionable to return. OutKick medical expert Dr. David Chao, a former head physician for the San Diego Chargers, told OutKick that wet fields are typically prone to causing soft tissue injuries like hamstring strains. Chao noted that while wet conditions can protect players from knee injuries by preventing cleats from locking up in the turf, they increase the risk for muscle pulls.
