The $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will result in a company known simply as Skydance, according to Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison. Ellison stated in a post on X that the name was chosen to give the combined company its own identity while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. to remain in the spotlight. This naming decision comes after a judge approved the settlement Paramount reached with California and 11 other states earlier this week, clearing the last major hurdle blocking the deal. Those states had sued over the planned acquisition. Under the deal, Paramount must release a minimum number of assets.
