Country music star Eric Church told Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss that former NFL quarterback Eli Manning appeared hesitant to hold the fish he caught during a recent visit to Church's property outside Nashville. The comment surfaced during an episode of Moss' YouTube series, "Chasing 10," where the two discussed their time on the water together. Church stated that he brought Manning to his private fishing spot approximately six months ago and that the two-time Super Bowl champion was not eager to get his hands on the catch. "I think Eli's scared to hold 'em," Church said. "I had to hold the fish for him." When Moss asked for clarification, Church confirmed the story was about Eli, not his brother, and compared his assistance to helping a child take a picture with a caught bass. Moss, who was on the losing side of Manning's first Super Bowl victory with the New England Patriots, reacted with disbelief, saying, "Eli, man. Come on, Eli." The fishing trip took place on Church's 1,600-acre property located 15 minutes from downtown Nashville, which features multiple lakes stocked with largemouth bass. Church noted that he has caught four bass weighing at least 10 pounds in these waters, including a personal best of 11.2 pounds. During the specific outing with Moss, Church landed a 6.7-pound largemouth early in the day, and the pair continued to catch fish throughout their time on the water, including another bass they estimated at nearly 8 pounds. Although they did not land a double-digit fish during that particular trip, Moss has previously caught a 10-pound bass on the series. The show, which features Moss fishing with various athletes and celebrities, supports the Children's Cancer Research Fund, and the boat used for filming is set to be raffled off for the organization.
